Specifications:

Each Crisis Cache Pistol Kit contains the following: pistol cannister

NOTE: O2 (oxygen depleters) are not included as they are not necessary for firearm burial. This is because rust will not occur at a relative humidity level of less than about 40%, and the Montmorillonite Clay Desiccant Packs provide redundant protection against any remaining moisture.

To use this kit, clean and lightly oil your pistol first. Then place the pistol inside the silicone impregnated pistol sock. Put the "socked" pistol, along with the smaller clay desiccant pack inside the 10" x 10" 7 mil Silver Mylar Bag and seal it shut with a Teflon coated clothes iron. The pistol (sealed in its Mylar pouch), the 4" x 6" Cotton Drawstring Bags containing your ammunition, and the "1 unit" Montmorillonite Clay Desiccant Pack are then placed inside the larger Mylar bag. The Mylar bag then has the air removed with a vacuum and is zipped shut. It is then sealed shut with the clothes iron. This bag is then placed inside the canister and the lid is sealed with the enclosed lid sealant. It is now ready for burial.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Pistol Kit WILL NOT accommodate ALL pistol makes and models.

It will accommodate most large frame autos and smaller revolvers. The maximum usable "angled" distance (that is corner to corner measurement of the inside of the canister) is about 8 ½ inches. This canister will actually hold three (3) Ruger P95, 9mm pistols (side by side, and packed straight up and down), plus 500 rounds of ammunition, and the P95 is a large framed auto with a 3.9" barrel. Please do not order this kit if you are not sure your gun will fit. I don’t have the means to check every handgun that is manufactured to see if it will fit in this canister. If your pistol is no larger than 6" wide (top of rear sight to the bottom of the magazine), and 8" long (front of barrel to the most rearward part of the grip), it should fit in the canister. See diagram below for details, and check the web site of the manufacturer of your pistol. They usually have at least the length of the pistol listed.
